Deep in the Red Mountain region near the Mexico border, Rancher (Tom) and his wife are at a crossroads on what to do with the family farm; over the last five years, the area has experienced the highest missing persons cases, per capita, in the Southern U.S. Should they sell and move? Or should they stay, and deal?
Their future is decided one evening when on his way home Tom picks up a hitchhiking stranger who is looking to cross through the mountains into Mexico. As the stranger’s true, unsettling motives begin to unravel, the ghosts of Tom’s own dark past force him into a cat-and-mouse game of deception, where no one is who they seem.
